Outside Event: How to Teach Critical Thinking: A Roundtable Discussion

Location: Virtual Event - Zoom

Date: November 10, 2020

Time: 3pm

Details: Critical thinking skills are more important today than ever before. Every minute, we are bombarded with information, misinformation, and disinformation. Making sense of it all, separating the important from the trivial, requires skill and practice. Teachers need resources to teach these skills, and so the Reboot Foundation has teamed up with a group of award-winning educators to create a "How To Teach Critical Thinking: The Ultimate Guide.” The foundation is making the Guide available to teachers via a webinar on Nov. 10. The event will feature the foundation's CEO, a cognitive scientist from Occidental College, as well as a few of the teachers who advised on the Guide. The event will take place on Nov. 10, 3pm EST. The Guide contains, among other things, resources for teaching critical thinking to students of all ages, in any subject, and covers math, science, literature, civics, writing, and philosophy. This Guide – written with teachers, for teachers – is an invaluable resource for teaching students the skills they need to be engaged and informed global citizens.
