Laicie Heeley: Founder and editor of Inkstick and the host and executive producer of the PRX- and Inkstick-produced podcast, Things That Go Boom. She is also a Partner with the Truman National Security Project. Laicie's work has appeared in well-known newspapers, journals, and periodicals including Foreign Policy, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, and Associated Press, and she has appeared as an expert on CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News.
Kathleen McInnis: International security and strategy analyst for the United States Congress, recognized for successfully shaping U.S. and NATO allied defense policies. Analytic and practical experience working on a broad range of defense and global strategy issues, including: U.S. global basing and posture, Asian and European alliance dynamics, nuclear strategy, military coalitions, counterinsurgency, and Afghanistan. Provides expert comment to outlets including: Foreign Policy, Bloomberg, Defense News, CNN, The Financial Times, Sky News, Al Jazeera, CNBC, the BBC and Voice of America. Published novelist represented by Haven LA and Folio Literary.
Caroline Baxter: Caroline Baxter is a Research Fellow at the Eurasia Group Foundation where she focuses on the trajectory of U.S. foreign policy, with specific focus on the Asia-Pacific. Prior to joining EGF, Baxter was a senior policy analyst at the RAND Corporation where she focused on operational strategy, military doctrine and readiness, and defense acquisition. Her work included an analysis of the potential impact of repealing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” an examination of Army operational roles in the Pacific, and construction of a war game for senior Air Force officers to test operational concepts. She was been detailed twice to the Department of Defense, first to the Air Staff, and then to the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, where she served as Special Assistant to the Under Secretary. Baxter holds a B.A. in International Relations from the University of St. Andrews, and an M.A. in International Security Policy from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs.
